Tyler Waller wins Worlds!

Congratulations to Tyler Waller for winning Gold at the Loule Cup in Portugal. He was competing against 14 different countries and brought home the gold medal for Mens Junior Power Tumbling. This is his third podium win for a World Competition. In 2010 he won bronze in France, in 2011 he won silver in England, and now in 2012 he has brought home the gold medal in Portugal. Congrats Tyler!

 

Dara Williams wins Eastern!

Dara Williams, 14, has parlayed doing handstands in the basement of her Bloomington home into a Level 9 overall national championship by capturing a USA Gymnastics title Saturday in Worcester, Mass. Williams totaled 37.150 points out of a possible 40 to claim the crown over Francesca Swoboda (37.0) of Huntington, N.Y.

Our competitive teams...

Being on a competitive team can be very challenging, but also rewarding. Gymnasts can build self-confidence by setting goals and overcoming fears to develop higher level skills. Performing in front of large groups and receiving ribbons for accomplishments can give gymnasts a sense of pride in their achievements. There are many reasons for a child to join a team, but it does involve work by the gymnast and the parent.
